A new map of Hong Kong is being

prepared on the scale of 20,000 based on an aerial survey which took place some 18 months

or 2 years ago. At the same time, but quite independently of this question of the map,

the triangulations of Hong Kong are being adjusted by M.I.4 War Office to a higher degree

of accuracy. This adjustment is primarily

for the purpose of a large scale say about

1 in 500, or cadastral work, being of a higher degree of accuracy than is required for the 20,000 map.

The two questions are, therefore,

quite independent.
